Enjoy a healthier twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich by using whole wheat bread and reduced-fat cheese. The added spice blend gives it a flavorful kick without extra calories
Ingredients:
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 2 slices reduced-fat cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon olive oil for brushing
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
Warm up a griddle or skillet that doesnt stick over medium heat
Put garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper in a small bowl and mix them together
Put olive oil on one side of each piece of bread
Spread the spice mix on the bread slices that have been oiled
Put one slice of bread on the griddle or skillet with the oiled side down
Add one slice of cheese on top, and then put the second piece of bread on top, oiled side up
About two to three minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts
Take it off the heat, cut it in half, and serve right away
