Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 sandwich buns
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices cheese optional
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
- Mayonnaise or your favorite sauce, for serving
Instructions:
Preheat grill to medium-high heat
In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper
Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish
Pour marinade over the chicken, ensuring its well coated
Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator
Remove chicken from marinade and discard excess marinade
Grill chicken over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165F 75C
During the last few minutes of grilling, place cheese slices if using on top of each chicken breast to melt
Toast the sandwich buns on the grill for a minute or until lightly browned
To assemble the sandwiches, spread mayonnaise or your favorite sauce on the bottom bun
Top with grilled chicken, lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices
Cover with the top bun
Serve hot and enjoy
