Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef 80% lean
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup diced pickles
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions:
Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape them into thin patties
Place a slice of American cheese on 4 of the patties
Top the cheese with a tablespoon of diced onions and a tablespoon of diced pickles
Place the remaining 4 patties on top of the cheese-topped patties, sealing the edges to create stuffed burgers
Season both sides of the stuffed burgers with salt and pepper
Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat
Cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare to medium doneness
Adjust cooking time to your desired level of doneness
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly browned
Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked stuffed patties on the bottom half of each bun
Add any additional toppings or condiments of your choice, such as lettuce, tomato, ketchup, or mustard
Top with the other half of the bun
